...did you know?

The word "apartment" doesn't exist in the Cornish language.

Cornish for engine house is "an jynnji" and "part" in Cornish is "ran", hence "ran an jynnji" - The engine house apartment!

Did you know that Marazion is one of the oldest chartered towns in Cornwall?

Brief History of The Engine House...

The property was designed and built in 1888 of Cornish granite to house an eighty inch pumping engine. The engine was used to pump water from the mines below, the deeper the mines went, the harder the engine had to work.

When the price of tin and copper became cheaper overseas, the mine closed, like so many in Cornwall. In 1989, the conversion of the building took place and turned it from an industrial structure into our family home.
